Lawyer Fined $1000 for Wearing Sneakers

Recently, formal attire has been becoming more casual, to the point where even attorneys and judges are wearing jeans and sneakers into a trial. On September 10 of this year, defense lawyer Catalin Dancu was fined 5000 lei for wearing sneakers and jeans to a trial of five alleged art thieves. This amount equates to about 1148 USD. The defendants are charged with the theft of seven paintings by such artists as Picasso and Monet. The fine was enacted because he was delayed in another court.
